Radiative weak decays of charm mesons.
We address Standard Model predictions for flavor-changing radiative transitions of the pseudoscalar charm mesons. Short-distance contributions in D radiative transitions are contrasted with those in B decays. A full analysis is presented of the c → u+ γ electromagnetic penguin amplitude with QCD radiative corrections included. Given the importance of long-range effects for the charm sector, spe...
متن کاملNon-factorizable contributions in hadronic weak decays of charm mesons
Two body decays of charm mesons are studied by describing their amplitude in terms of a sum of factorizable and non-factorizable ones. The former is estimated by using a naive factorization while the latter is calculated by using a hard pseudo-scalar-meson approximation. The hard pseudo-scalar-meson amplitude is given by a sum of the so-called equal-time commutator term and surface term which c...
متن کاملLight Scalar Mesons in Charm Meson Decays
We present recent results on scalar light mesons based on Dalitz plot analyses of charm decays from Fermilab experiment E791. Low mass scalar mesons are found to have large contributions to the decays studied, D → Kππ and D,D s → πππ. These results demonstrate the importance of charm decays as a new environment for the study of light meson physics.
متن کاملSemileptonic B Decays to Excited Charm Mesons
Exclusive semileptonic B decays to the lightest excited charmed mesons are investigated at order ΛQCD/mQ in the heavy quark effective theory. At zero recoil, ΛQCD/mQ corrections to the matrix elements of the weak currents can be written in terms of the leading Isgur-Wise functions for the corresponding transition and meson mass splittings. The differential decay rates are predicted, including Λ...
